Kyosho Wild Dodge Ram QRC Nitro RC Truck
The first of my nitro RC trucks was a 1/10th scale Kyosho Wild Dodge Ram QRC truck. It possessed what was a rare feature amongst gas powered RC trucks at the time, a reverse gear. Not only this, but it made use of a Quick Reverse Clutch (QRC) which allowed the truck to switch between forward and reverse motion extremely rapidly. What does this mean? It means impressive wheelies, stoppies and in some cases forward flips were all well within this truck’s reach.
The truck proved to be extremely tough considering the punishment that I threw at it and its fancy clutch. The repair bill was surprising low and limited to just some minor front suspension parts courtesy of a head on collision with a brick wall, not whilst piloted by me I hasten to add
Whilst a lot of fun, the Kyosho truck only had a .15 cu engine in a heavy RC monster truck (for its size) due to the QRC assembly so it wasn’t the fastest thing on four wheels. I soon craved greater performance and speed so I started to look around for a nitro RC truck that would either offer more engine power or a lighter chassis.
