You might think that gas powered RC trucks and cars are only good for long sunny summer days and that they’ll be packed away in a cupboard the rest of the year. Well, you would be wrong! They can be used all-year round provided some extra care and attention is taken when running them in wet or cold conditions.
When running in especially wet conditions the nitro RC truck’s biggest enemy is water getting into the servos and receiver, radio glitches are not the kind of thing you want on a high performance gas powered RC truck! One way of keeping that evil water away from your truck’s precious radio components is to place the each of the servos and the receiver in their own balloon, thereby waterproofing them. Sure it sounds crazy, but it works.
If you’re running in particularly cold conditions the biggest problem you’re likely to find is that the plastic parts of your truck become more brittle and easier to break. The best thing you can do in this case is to take it a little easy on the extreme jumping and bashing. Heavy landings in the cold can get especially costly!
