Gas Powered RC Trucks

After several years away from the world of gas powered RC trucks I thought it was time to get back into things. As I started to look around for information on the hobby to get back up to speed I realised there isn’t much out there and perhaps I should share my experiences as I get back into the hobby, The Gas Powered RC Blog was born!

In the past I have owned a number of gas (or nitro) radio control trucks and cars, both 1/10th and 1/8th scale but the gas powered RC scene has moved on since then so it is time to look for something new. I’ll tell you about my previous trucks and what was good or bad about them in a later post. I also hope to take you along with me as I see how far the hobby has come since then and take a look at some of the newer trucks and cars that are available.

So that’s the future, but for now I wanted to share two books with you that I spotted whilst looking around for information on gas rc trucks. The first is The RC Car Bible which is pitched at veterans of the hobby and newcomers alike so if like me you’re interested in the world of gas RC trucks there’s a good chance there will be something there for you.

The second is a new book from Haynes, The Radio Control Car Manual. Both books not only cover gas powered RC trucks and cars but also electric RC cars/trucks so there should be something for everyone even if gas powered RC doesn’t float your boat!*

*No, RC boats aren’t covered! ;-)
